One of the greatest gifts that Christians have access to is prayer. Often neglected yet heavily beneficial, prayer is the way a child of God has access to talk to our Heavenly Father. Philippians 4:6 gives us insight to the “why” behind prayer. When we take our burdens to the Lord in prayer, we find the possibility that prayer provides. It is possible to live a life full of triumph over the anxieties this world contains.
Once we have given our anxieties to God, prayer yields its purpose. When we pray, it sets our minds on Christ, who He is, what He has done, and what He can do. Prayer turns a weighted heart into one filled with thanksgiving. With a thankful heart, admiration towards the power of prayer grows. Power is found through the thankful heart that believes in God’s ability to hear and answer the individuals’s prayers (Luke 11:9). There is no burden, request, or heart-filled desire too big for God.
